About Me!
I’m Chris Geiger, the author of The Cancer Survivors Club. I’ve been lucky enough to find success in a few different arenas… winning the prestigious Columnist of the Year award and even setting a Guinness World Record for the most published newspaper article (yes, my mother was very proud). As a writer, I’ve contributed to a wide range of international publications, always chasing stories that matter.
Right now, I’m diving deep into the world of complementary and alternative cancer treatments. My mission? To investigate the so-called “Miracle Cures” and expose whether vulnerable cancer patients are being exploited for financial gain. I’m not one to sit quietly when something smells fishy.
In fact, my pursuit of truth once led me to film an undercover investigative documentary for the BBC, which helped shut down a charlatan selling fake cancer cures. (That one felt good.) You can also catch me regularly discussing cancer and health issues on the radio; because when there’s something important to say, I say it loud!
Cancer isn’t just a professional topic for me, it’s personal. I endured nearly two years of brutal treatments, including surgeries, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. I’m grateful to now be in remission, and I use every bit of that experience to make a positive impact.
When I’m not helping and supporting cancer patients, you’ll probably find me baking. I’m passionate about creating food without artificial additives or preservatives. That passion even landed me a spot on The Great British Bake Off! (No soggy bottoms here.)
Photography is another passion of mine, you’ll always see me with a camera in hand. My portraits, especially in black and white, have won me awards and been published in numerous magazines and newspapers. I absolutely love capturing real moments, especially when a little mischief sneaks into the frame.
As for what’s next? I have a few TV ideas brewing. One of them follows cancer patients on their treatment journey, celebrating their incredible resilience. Another investigates small remote communities with surprisingly low cancer rates. I’m determined to find out what’s really going on; and to share it with the world.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple motto; have as much fun as possible. Life’s too short not to.
